Jason Roberts

President of the Board

With roots in Quebec, Canada, Jason Roberts holds family-first values and is now the dedicated General Manager for Men In Kilts of Greater Vancouver. Jason advocates for quality of life for his team with the 4-day workweek, a mission that extends beyond his people and into media such as CBC radio appearances. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and influencer, Jason hopes to build connections within the business community.

Tricia

Tricia Barker

Past President and Director of Government Liaison

Tricia was born in Vancouver but is quick to remind people her family is from Aberdeen. In her day job, Tricia is a certified wellness professional with a specialty in assisting seniors and people with terminal illnesses. She has used her background in the advertising/marketing world to create Scottish-based events like the Simon Fraser University Robbie Burns Recitation Marathon and the BC Highland Games Haggis Hunt. She is also involved with the literary community with a focus on the extensive Scottish favourites. From 2018-22, Tricia was elected to the Vancouver Park Board to oversee all aspects of parks and recreation in Vancouver.

Hannah was raised between Scotland, and Malawi, a country with deep historical ties to Scotland. For the past two decades, she has called Canada home but frequently returns to Scotland, staying connected to her roots. With an educational background in International and Intercultural Communication and Journalism, Hannah brings a global perspective to her life and her work. With a deep love for travel, Hannah is drawn to new cultural experiences, eager to immerse herself in diverse perspectives and local histories.

Hannah is also a voracious reader, always seeking to expand her knowledge and understanding of the world. Whether through her professional endeavours or personal travels, she is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural connections and promoting global understanding.

Graeme Menzies

Graeme Menzies

Graeme Menzies, BA (Hon) MA, is an international marketing and communications leader skilled at building effective teams to achieve business goals and objectives. His career experience spans the fields of education, sport, technology, arts, and international trade. Graeme is author (with Dave Doroghy) of three best-selling “111 Places That You Must Not Miss” books in British Columbia (Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria). He has also written a biography of eighteenth-century Scottish surgeon-botanist Archibald Menzies, published by Whittles Publishing of Dunbeath, Scotland.
Graeme

Graeme Macaloney

Director of the Board

Dr. Graeme Macaloney PEng, is the founder and President of Macaloney Brewers & Distillers, a World-award winning single malt distillery and craft brewery in Victoria. Graeme emigrated to Canada in 1989 from Scotland. He previously worked in big pharma and biotechnology (Pfizer, Eli Lilly, QSV Biologics, Protein Engineering Networks of Centres of Excellence), and in high tech (Redlen Technologies). He was a board member of the Victoria Highland Games for 7 years and also previously with Genome Alberta, PENCE Inc., and QSV Biologics Ltd. 

Iain G. Ball

Iain G. Ball

Iain is a Financial Consultant with over 25 years of international experience in finance, corporate finance and management. He is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and moved to Vancouver, BC, in 1981. Iain is the former Chief Financial Officer and Director of Progressive Solutions Inc., a software company that was acquired in 2012. Iain established the company’s UK operations in Glasgow, Scotland, where he was the company’s Financial Director. He has experience in the successful growth, financing and international expansion of a range of businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Aberdeen, a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and is both a Scottish and Canadian Chartered Accountant.

Kumi

Kumi Kimura

Director of the Board

Kumi is the Senior Manager of Musqueam Golf Course and has a deep understanding of the importance of teamwork and the magic of sport. She was a manager Vancouver’s famous Cannery Seafood Restaurant so also is familiar with the benefits of a thriving hospitality industry.  Kumi has recently been inducted into the Richmond Sports Wall of Fame.

Mike Redmond

Director of the Board

Mike is a retired lawyer, having spent his practice in a variety of ways, from private practice in administrative and corporate law, to being in-house counsel to a major telecommunications company and most recently as vice-chair of the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal.   Mike has been involved in politics at a number of levels, having run twice for Parliament (unsuccessfully) for the Progressive Conservative Party and its successor and serving on many boards, locally and nationally.  He is an avid fan of history, having obtained an honours history degree from UBC and is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the 78th Fraser Highlanders, a historical society dedicated to the memory of the first highland regiment to serve in what is now Canada. He and his wife lived for many years in New Westminster, BC until moving in retirement to the shores of Lost Lagoon in Vancouver.

Ollie Campbell

Ollie Campbell

Ollie Campbell arrived in Vancouver from the UK in March 2017. With an MSc in Security Sector Management from Cranfield University, Ollie followed up a 17-year career as a British Army officer with a role as a Senior Policy Advisor at the UK Mission to the United Nations, focusing on sanctions and non-proliferation. He now works as a Senior Policy Analyst at Engineers and Geoscientists BC with a portfolio covering government relations, governance and the implementation of the Professional Governance Act. Ollie is a fan of most sports, and maintains a key interest in international affairs.
